However, It’s a good thing we haven’t had too much rain lately because I’m sure some of these runnels would have become veritable canyons by now. As it is, many of them are increasingly nearing the level of outright road-hazard that desperately need to be filled in. I actually managed to slide both wheels over one of these things on my bike; though that was mostly due to the giant sand dune that had been piled on top.

Similarly there is now a nice ditch cut out of the road on my daily route. And by nice, I mean, bloody huge. It’s probably about 3″ deep now and about the width of an average sized car wheel. In other words, if you hit that thing at a decent speed, you’re likely to pop some tyres and buckle your rims. I’m just glad I saw them cutting it a week ago otherwise I would probably be buying 2 new tyres about now.

Hmmm… doesn’t quite seem to work the way one would expect. Oh well.

The impression I got from yesterday’s fiasco is that the Digg community must be filled with a bunch of 13 year old mouthbreathers with way too much time and serious lack of understanding on how a civilised society functions — presumably — in the modern world. Oh well, I have no vested interest in the machinations of such a community, however I do find it delightfully amusing how quick attitudes changed and principles were thrown out the window in the aftermath. The mob is a fickle thing, and it’s easy to hide in a faceless mass.

Last time I had lost a package it took 4 months to track down. It was stuck in some post depot, just not going anywhere because some retard put a sticker ON TOP OF THE DESTINATION ADDRESS. Yeah, that’s clever. The least they could have done was return to sender. But no, we had to pay to have the package returned and resent. This sort of thing annoys me, mainly because my mate that sent me the package ended up footing the bill to fix what is essentially a screw up on their part.

As to what’s happened to my latest parcel, who knows? Stolen… possibly. Stuck in a depot somewhere… probably. There’s no real good reason to steal my item, it was an old XBOX game that’s not really worth much. Maybe some post office worker really wanted it. Unfortunately this item did not get shipping with a tracking number (even though I paid £5 to ship a £10 item), so trying to find it will be an exercise in futility. I phoned customs yesterday and they flatly refused to help me without a tracking number. I don’t know when this policy changed because I’ve tracked down stuff without a tracking number before — my name has always been enough to find my parcels. They even told me they used to track parcels without a tracking number, but will no longer do it… thanks buddy, you’ve been a great help.

So in the end I’m just going to forget about the money I’ve lost and order another copy (I really want this game). Even ordering a second copy will work out cheaper than if I had tried to source it locally. Oh well, I guess you can’t win them all, I just hope whoever has my NGB is enjoying the damn thing.

Between the 1st and 29th of December last year 1 277 people perished grimly in traffic accidents. Pedestrians made up a large number, passengers, sadly, accounted for 420 deaths, while drivers brought up the rear at 341 casualties. I’m certain in most incidents stupidity was a major factor.

Not so long ago I wrote a blog about retarded peds. I received some criticism for that entry, though negative, I found the source highly amusing. No skin off my nose, my opinions are my own, and I have no problems expressing them regardless of what others may think.

The above quote comes from a rather amusing article by David Moseley. It seems he shares my sentiments and is able to express them far better than I can.

The obvious ommission in the article though, is how many are alcohol and cellphone related?

The theme is gone for those who don’t use a feed; this will eventually get fixed, but not right now. I may end up just putting the old one back and calling it a day — we’ll just have to see how lazy I am.

Update: I put my old theme back, though it’s a bit broken due to the alterations I did in the underlying Wordpress code.

Update: I’m now using a new, different theme, it’s a bit dark but overall it’s not too bad in my opinion.

This vehicle was stolen and then involved in an accident.

3 cows were found inside — tied up and squashed in !! — see the 1st and 2nd photos.

When the cows were removed the vehicle appeared as in photo 3 — rear seat and front passenger seat had been removed to fit the cattle in !!!

The last photo shows the 3 cows after their release — remarkably unscratched!!!
